Basketball Game Preview: Mt. Eden Monarchs vs. Berkeley Yellowjackets

Mt. Eden is 1-6 against Berkeley since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Mt. Eden Monarchs will challenge the Berkeley Yellowjackets at 5:30 p.m. Mt. Eden will be strutting in after a win while Berkeley will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with eight defeats in a row dating back to last season, Mt. Eden turned things around against San Lorenzo on Wednesday. They walked away with a 60-48 victory over the Grizzlies. The Monarchs' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Berkeley lost to Antioch at home by a 60-45 margin on Tuesday.

Mt. Eden's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Berkeley, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.

Mt. Eden might still be hurting after the 49-24 loss they got from Berkeley in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Thankfully for Mt.
