Cairo's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Dougherty Trojans a 10-0 shutout. The Syrupmakers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by ten runs or more this season.

Cairo has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Dougherty, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.

Looking ahead, Cairo will face off against Valdosta at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Wildcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.64 runs per game on average), something the Syrupmakers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Dougherty, they will challenge Monroe at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
