Softball Recap: Burke County Takes a Loss

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three matchups, Burke County finally came back down to earth on Thursday. They lost 16-0 to the Screven County Gamecocks. The Bears were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Gamecocks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.

Burke County's loss dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Screven County, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-10 record this season.

Burke County will be playing in front of their home fans against Edmund Burke Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Screven County will be paying especially close attention to the Bears' contest: after the Bears face off against the Spartans, they'll take on Screven County again at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
