Recap: Sonora Wildcats vs. Ripon Christian Knights
The Sonora Wildcats were the 32-25 winner over the Ripon Christian Knights when they last played one another back in November of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Sonora fell to Ripon Christian 39-33. Sonora found out winning isn't easy when you're outrebounded 22 to 8 on offense.
When it comes to explaining why Sonora lost on Wednesday, one person who can't be blamed is Taylor Faught. Despite the final result, she scored 11 points along with eight steals. Those eight steals set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Adeline Hanson, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Ripon Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Maddie Yonker led the charge by scoring 20 points along with eight rebounds. Reagan Van der hoek was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 11 rebounds.
Sonora has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season. As for Ripon Christian, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.
