Softball Recap: Peach County Wins Going Away Against Dougherty

Peach County got themselves on the board against Dougherty on Thursday, but Dougherty never followed suit. They blew past Dougherty 16-0. Peach County might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by 12 runs or more this season.

Alyssa Crozier made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in September of 2024.

In other batting news, Shaniyah Gibson was incredible, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 2-for-2. That's the most runs she has posted since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was Yumi Thomas, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Peach County hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least two batters in three consecutive matches.

Peach County is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Dougherty, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.
