Softball Recap: Milford Wins Going Away Against Fillmore Central

Milford had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Fillmore Central on Saturday. The Eagles blew past the Panthers 11-3. The Eagles not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since September 6th (when they won 11-3).

Maeli Kubicek was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Kubicek was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Milford always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .536. The last time their OBP was this high was in their last 12 games.

Milford's record is now 10-12. As for Fillmore Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 13 of their last 14 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-19 record this season.

Fillmore Central has already played their next matchup, a 12-9 loss against Wilber-Clatonia on the 27th. Hopefully Milford paid attention to the Panthers' game: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
