While Gilmer's win against LaFayette wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Gilmer Bobcats sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 victory over the LaFayette Ramblers on Tuesday. Seven seems to be a good number for the Bobcats as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Gilmer's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for LaFayette, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season.

Gilmer will have a chance to go back-to-back against LaFayette: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
