Cherokee had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Paulding County Patriots on Monday. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by six runs or more this season.

Cherokee has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Paulding County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-13.

Cherokee will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Patriots: the pair will be back at it again later today.
