Mid Valley skates past Carbondale Area with ease

Recap: Mid Valley Spartans vs. Carbondale Area Chargers

In what's become a running theme this season, the Mid Valley Spartans gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They breezed by Carbondale Area on the road to the tune of 59-19. The win was just what Mid Valley needed coming off of a 53-26 defeat in their prior match.

Leading Mid Valley to victory were Elise Larson and Krista Cortazar. Larson almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 assists, while Cortazar scored 19 points along with five rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cortazar has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Emilee Tomsak, who scored five points along with five assists and five steals.

Mid Valley is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. As for Carbondale Area, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.

Mid Valley will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. Holy Cross comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Carbondale Area does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
