Football Game Preview: Marion County Warriors vs. Cascade Champions + How To Watch

The Marion County Warriors will face off against the Cascade Champions at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Marion County has three straight wins, Cascade has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Marion County's offense will try to repeat the strong performance it gave last Friday, when they got past Grundy County's usually-dominant defense. The Warriors blew past the Yellowjackets 41-20. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won four games by 21 points or more so far this season.

Marion County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zaiden Humphrey led the charge by rushing for 46 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while also picking up 37 receiving yards. The dominant performance also gave Humphrey a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two). Mason Mays was another key back, rushing for 48 yards and two TDs.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Marion County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 210 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 210 rushing yards in three consecutive contests.

Marion County didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Kyevon McDonald and Harris Weeks. Weeks got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Cascade ended up a good deal behind Watertown on Friday and lost 27-9.

Marion County's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Cascade, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.

Everything came up roses for Marion County against Cascade in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 76-7 win. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Champions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
