It was a good run, but Benton unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Marion Wolves by a score of 7-6. The Bobcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wolves earlier this season, when they won 6-1.

Benton's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Marion, they moved to 6-14 with that win, which also ended their nine-game losing streak.

Benton has already played their next contest, an 8-5 loss against Waverly-Shell Rock on the 17th. As for Marion, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 6-4 defeat against Maquoketa on the 17th.
