Baseball Game Preview: Leonia Lions vs. Hackensack Comets

The Leonia Lions will head out to challenge the Hackensack Comets at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games Leonia has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Leonia fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Lyndhurst on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Golden Bears by a score of 3-2. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Lions couldn't push the score so high this time.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 11 runs the game before, Hackensack was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Teaneck. The defeat continues a trend for the Comets in their meetings with the Highwaymen: they've now lost five in a row.

Hackensack saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jambie Castillo, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run.

Leonia's loss dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Hackensack, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-16-1.
