Football Recap: Cartersville Finds Playoff Glory Versus Warner Robins + How To Watch

Cartersville had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past the Warner Robins Demons 64-0 on Friday. Considering the Hurricanes have won 11 games by more than 23 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Cartersville got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Braylon Hill out in front who rushed for 79 yards and three scores on only ten carries, and also picked up 36 receiving yards. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Hill a new career-high. Nate Russell was another key passer, throwing for 224 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes.

Cartersville didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Warner Robins to a completion percentage of just 34.6%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from four players: Reed Ezell, KT Blackwell, Tyon Coe, and Cooper Melvin, who each logged one passes deflected. Given Russell's standout performance, it's clear Warner Robins' secondary just wasn't on the same level.

Special teams played a big role in the game for Cartersville, adding 14 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Madoxx Davis, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

The victory keeps Cartersville at an undefeated 12-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.3 points on average this season. As for Warner Robins, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 7-5 record.

Looking ahead, Cartersville will challenge Kell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Warner Robins does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
