Football Recap: Ellis Skates Past Ness City with Ease + How To Watch

Ellis won the last time they faced Ness City and things went their way on Friday too. The Railroaders took their game with ease, bagging a 58-8 victory over the Eagles. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Railroaders just coasted through the last quarter.

Ellis was led to victory by Baylor Born and Carson Schartz. Born threw for 101 yards and five TDs while completing 91.7% of his passes, while Schartz rushed for 113 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only ten carries. What's more, Schartz posted two rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in September of 2024.

Another reason for the win was Ellis' imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Schartz was especially locked on to Ness City's QB and sacked him twice. Ellis received some extra help from Schartz, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Ellis' win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-5. As for Ness City, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Looking ahead, Ellis will face off against Wichita County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Ness City, they will challenge LaCrosse at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will be up against the Leopards' rather soft defense (which has allowed 36.29 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
