Basketball Recap: Kennedy Takes a Loss

After flying high against Grant last Friday, Kennedy came back down to earth. The Kennedy Cougars fell just short of the Heritage Christian Warriors by a score of 51-49 on Monday.

Despite the loss, Kennedy still got an impressive performance from Andreya Villa, who went 8 for 11 on her way to 17 points in addition to six rebounds and three blocks. Those three blocks gave Villa a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Katherine Franco, who posted eight points and five steals.

Kennedy's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Heritage Christian, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Kennedy will head out to challenge Van Nuys at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Kennedy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.1 points per game this season. As for Heritage Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Verdugo Hills at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Verdugo Hills also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 57.8 points per game.
