Baseball Recap: Piedmont Academy Has No Trouble Against Terrell Academy

Piedmont Academy extended their postseason success on Friday against Terrell Academy. They put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 16-3 win. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Piedmont Academy got a massive performance out of Jack Adams, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Adams is becoming a predictor of the Cougars' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 8-1 (and 6-10 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Griswell, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Piedmont Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in February.

Piedmont Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-11 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Terrell Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-14.

As of now, neither Piedmont Academy nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
