Softball Recap: Norwood Beats East Carter for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Norwood waltzed into their matchup on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They put the hurt on the East Carter Redbirds with a sharp 9-3 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Pirates also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Norwood got a massive performance out of Addison Smith, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple was Smith's first of the season. Jayden Chambers was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Norwood was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .435. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Norwood's record now sits at 7-3. As for East Carter, they dropped their record down to 4-14 with the loss, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, Norwood and East Carter will both be playing Dadeville the next time they take the field. The Pirates will head out to face the Bearcats at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Redbirds will play them later in the day, at 5:30 p.m.
