Football Recap: Palo Alto Vikings vs. Sacred Heart Prep Gators

Palo Alto was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 28-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sacred Heart Prep Gators. While the Vikings had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Gators 14-7.

Despite the loss, Palo Alto still got an impressive performance from Justin Fung, who threw for 166 yards and two TDs, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground. Jake Wang also deserves some recognition as he hauled in his first receiving touchdown of the season.

Sacred Heart Prep can attribute much of their success to Andrew Shen, who rushed for 106 yards and one score on only 14 carries. Those 106 rushing yards gave Shen a new career-high.

Palo Alto's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Sacred Heart Prep, they moved to 5-4 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.
