Recap: Foothill Knights vs. Cerritos Dons
The Foothill Knights were the 66-53 winner over the Cerritos Dons when they last played one another back in December of 2016, but their luck changed this time around. Foothill's rough 60-38 defeat to Cerritos on Saturday might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Foothill can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 826th, while Cerritos is ranked 226th).
Several Knights players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Charlotte Fajardo, who scored 18 points. Another player making a difference was Elize McAveney, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Foothill has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Cerritos, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.
Foothill will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on United Christian Academy at 1:00 p.m. on December 27th. Cerritos will be home for the holidays to greet North at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
