Football Recap: North Marion Takes a Loss

North Marion extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 2-5. They were beaten by the Vanguard Knights 48-7. While losing is never fun, the Colts can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 310th, while the Knights are ranked 82nd).

As for Vanguard, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 6-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 38.8 points over those games.

Terrance Lewis continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 138 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only nine carries, while also throwing for 88 yards and one TD on only eight passes. Sergarion Gunsby was in the mix too, providing Vanguard with two scores.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Marion will welcome Dunnellon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Vanguard, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Palm Beach Central at 7:30 p.m. on the 17th.
