Freer has gone a perfect 5-0 against Premont recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Buckaroos will head out on the road to face off against the Cowboys at 7:30 p.m. Freer has given up an average of 28.2 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Freer took a 34-point defeat the last time they faced off against Three Rivers, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Buckaroos skirted past the Bulldogs 35-32. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Buckaroos.

Meanwhile, Premont fell victim to Refugio and their airtight defense on Friday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 54-0 to the Bobcats, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. While losing is never fun, the Cowboys can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 1122nd, while the Bobcats are ranked 158th).

Freer's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Premont, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Freer strolled past Premont when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a score of 28-14. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Buckaroos since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
