Soccer Recap: Independence Takes a Loss

Independence lost to Williamsburg back in April of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Mustangs lost 3-0 to the Raiders. While losing is never fun, Independence can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa soccer rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while Williamsburg are ranked 34th).

Independence's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Williamsburg, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Independence will welcome Belle Plaine at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Williamsburg, they will be playing at home against Vinton-Shellsburg at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday.
