Baseball Recap: Albany Gets the Win

Albany proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by six) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Hercules Titans 5-4. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Jude Hatamiya looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Albany's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Preston McGowen, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. That run marked the first that McGowen scored this season. Antonio Cabrini was another, going 3-for-4 with one RBI.

Albany now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Hercules, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.

Coming up, Albany will face off against Las Lomas at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. We've got a battle between Titans coming up. Hercules is facing Skyline at the right time seeing as Skyline is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
