Douglas scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Bishop Manogue Miners by a score of 48-46. The Tigers have struggled against the Miners recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Douglas' loss came despite strong showings from Jacob Davis and Keston Sadabseng. Davis picked up 163 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns, while Sadabseng threw for 176 yards and two TDs on only nine passes. Davis' longest reception was for an incredible 81 yards.

Bishop Manogue's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brandon Mann led the charge by throwing for 277 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for 77 yards. That's the most passing yards Mann has posted since back in October of 2024. Amir McGruder was another key player, rushing for 124 yards and three scores.

Douglas' defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Bishop Manogue, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-3.

Douglas wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 21-14 loss against Carson on the 10th. As for Bishop Manogue, after each having a week off, they and Reed will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th.
