Soccer Game Preview: Blair vs. South Pasadena

Blair is 0-8 against South Pasadena since January of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Blair Vikings are taking a road trip to face off against the South Pasadena Tigers at 5:00 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Blair fell victim to Monrovia and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They came up short against the Wildcats, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 884th, while the Wildcats are ranked 370th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for South Pasadena, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand San Marino a 1-0 shutout on Wednesday. The Tigers wouldn't have won without Kaia Trainedes, who scored the game-winner.

The win got South Pasadena back to even at 5-5-1. As for Blair, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5-2.

Blair suffered a grim 9-0 defeat to South Pasadena when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Can Blair avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
