Baseball Recap: East Laurens Comes Up Short

East Laurens managed to slip by Dodge County the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The East Laurens Falcons came up short against the Dodge County Indians on Friday, falling 13-5. The Falcons were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Indians earlier this season, when they won 6-5.

Konner Oneal made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-4. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kaden Mimbs, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple.

Oneal wasn't the only one working in the home run department: East Laurens lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

The loss snapped East Laurens' winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-8 record. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Dodge County, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-8.

Coming up, East Laurens will head out to take on Academy for Classical Education at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Academy for Classical Education's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so East Laurens' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Dodge County, they will square off against Southwest at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
