Football Recap: Sedan Extends Winning Streak to Three

If Central wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Sedan, they should've done a better job of containing Lincoln Dowell. The Devils really took it to the Raiders for the full four quarters, racking up a 54-20 victory thanks in part to Dowell, who rushed for 71 yards and a pair of scores, and also picked up 60 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because Sedan is undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-3 otherwise.

Sedan's defense made their presence known, laying out Treighton Hafenstein three times. Jacob Darbro was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with 15. Sedan received some extra help from Mason Angell, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

The win (which was Sedan's third in a row) raised their record to 4-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 48.7 points over those games. As for Central, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Sedan wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 54-24 loss against Oswego on the 24th. As for Central, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 36-26 defeat against West Elk on the 24th.
