Softball Recap: Bainbridge Comes Up Short

Bainbridge extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping them down to 6-12. They lost 12-0 to the Peach County Trojans. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Bearcats' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Bainbridge saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Taydem Burris, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Burris has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

As for Peach County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games.

On Peach County's side, Alyssa Crozier made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Crozier was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Taleyah Marable, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in August. Shaniyah Gibson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Coming up, Bainbridge will head out to square off against Cairo at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bearcats will need to watch out since the Syrupmakers have now posted at least ten runs in their last seven contests. As for Peach County, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 10-2 loss against Academy for Classical Education on the 22nd.
