Shawnee Mission East faced Olathe Northwest in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Lancers took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ravens. The Lancers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Ravens earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Shawnee Mission East was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-23.

Despite the loss, Shawnee Mission East saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jessie Hill had nine digs and four assists.

The victory made it two in a row for Shawnee Mission East and bumps their season record up to 15-9. As for Olathe Northwest, their win bumped their record up to 25-5.
