Volleyball Recap: Shawnee Mission East Takes a Loss + How To Watch

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Shawnee Mission East and Olathe Northwest, and Olathe Northwest kept the tradition alive. The Lancers fell 2-0 to the Ravens on Saturday. The Lancers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Ravens earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Shawnee Mission East was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-23.

Despite the defeat, Shawnee Mission East saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jessie Hill had nine digs and four assists.

Shawnee Mission East's loss dropped their record down to 15-9. As for Olathe Northwest, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 18 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-5 record this season.

Shawnee Mission East has already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Bishop Miege on the 13th. As for Olathe Northwest, they will challenge Olathe West at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
