Soccer Recap: Valley View Gets the Win

It's playoff time, and Valley View had no trouble coming through when it counted. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Woodbridge Warriors 2-1. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 66th, while the Warriors are ranked 203rd), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Valley View has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those five contests. As for Woodbridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.

Coming up, Valley View will take on Buena at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Buena will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something Valley View surely won't give up without a fight. Woodbridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
