Soccer Game Preview: Springfield vs. St. Patrick

The Springfield Senators will be taking part in a tournament against the St. Patrick Shamrocks at 1:30 p.m. on Friday.

Springfield is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Berwyn/Cicero Morton just ended the team's five-match winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty seven goals in the game before, Springfield couldn't push the score so high this time.

Their goal came courtesy of Sam Sosamena, who's now up to four this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. Patrick). They never let Marian Catholic get on the board and left with a 7-0 win on Wednesday. Winning may never get old, but St. Patrick sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

The victory got St. Patrick back to even at 5-5. As for Springfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5-1.
