It was a good run, but Hillsboro unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the DeSoto Dragons by a score of 7-6. The Hawks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Dragons earlier this season, when they won 12-7.

Maizy Sabourin was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Sabourin, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Hillsboro's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-5. As for DeSoto, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.

Looking ahead, Hillsboro will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against North County at 4:30 p.m. As for DeSoto, they will venture away from home to take on Windsor at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
