Baseball Recap: Mt. Zion Triumphs

Mt. Zion proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by 11) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Woodland Bobcats, sneaking past 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since April 29, 2024.

Mt. Zion is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. Woodland is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Mt. Zion didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 18-8 victory against Wadley on the 7th. As for Woodland, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 14-4 loss against Cleburne County on the 12th.
