Softball Recap: West Monona Wins Going Away Against River Valley

West Monona barely beat River Valley the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Spartans were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over the Wolverines on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won nine games by seven runs or more so far this season.

West Monona has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for River Valley, they dropped their record down to 5-13 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

West Monona didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 6-2 victory against Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley on the 21st. River Valley has also already played their next game (against Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
