Baseball Game Preview: Tippecanoe Red Devils vs. Bellefontaine Chieftains

The Tippecanoe Red Devils will square off against the Bellefontaine Chieftains at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Tippecanoe is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last nine games.

On Tuesday, Tippecanoe was able to grind out a solid win over Franklin, taking the game 6-2.

Ethan Harney made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on James Merry, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI. Eli Kettel was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Meanwhile, it may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Bellefontaine ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Stebbins 12-11. The Chieftains haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Tippecanoe's victory bumped their record up to 21-5. As for Bellefontaine, their win bumped their record up to 10-15.

Everything went Tippecanoe's way against Bellefontaine in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, as Tippecanoe made off with a 13-0 victory. Will the Red Devils repeat their success, or do the Chieftains have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
