Basketball Recap: Downey Takes a Loss

Downey's game on Tuesday was all tied up 21-21 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of the Gregori Jaguars by a score of 36-34. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Knights have suffered since December 7, 2023.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Gregori to victory, but perhaps none more so than Makayla Tran, who posted nine points and five rebounds. What's more, Tran also racked up three assists, the most she's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Audrey Pacheco, who had six points.

Downey now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Gregori, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 16-9.

Downey didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 39-31 win against Turlock on the 6th. As for Gregori, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 61-20 victory against Modesto on the 7th.
