Soccer Game Preview: Hardaway vs. Columbus

Hardaway is 1-7 against Columbus since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Hardaway Hawks will head out on the road to face off against the Columbus Blue Devils at 8:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Hardaway is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of Kendrick.

Meanwhile, Columbus faced McIntosh in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. Columbus lost 6-0 to McIntosh. Having soared to a lofty four goals in the game before, the Blue Devils' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

With the defeat, Columbus broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 21 goals over those six games. As for Hardaway, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Hardaway suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Columbus in their previous matchup back in February of 2022. Can Hardaway avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
