Preview: Holtville Vikings vs. Brawley Wildcats
Holtville is 9-1 against Brawley since January of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Holtville Vikings will take on the Brawley Wildcats at 3:15 p.m. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Tuesday, it was a hard-fought match, but Holtville had to settle for a 31-28 defeat against Southwest EC. Holtville has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Jasmine Garewal put forth a good effort for the losing side as she dropped a double-double on 10 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Vanessa Gonzalez, who scored 5 points along with 9 rebounds and 5 assists.
Meanwhile, Brawley couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 32-21 to Calexico on November 15th.
The losses dropped Holtville to 0-2 and Southwest EC to 1-2.
Holtville strolled past Brawley when the teams last played back in January by a score of 56-39. Does Holtville have another victory up their sleeve, or will Brawley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
