Baseball Recap: Monday's Victory Is Pepperell's 14th in Last 15 Outings

Pepperell won the last time they faced Callaway and things went their way on Monday too. The Dragons put the hurt on the Cavaliers with a sharp 14-4 win. The Dragons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 games by six runs or more this season.

Sam Ross was a standout: he scored a run and stole three bases while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of JP Kilgo, who scored three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Pepperell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .618. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Callaway only posted an OBP of .417.

Pepperell is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Callaway, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 16-10.

Looking ahead, Pepperell will take on Temple at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Dragons are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Callaway, they will face off against Bremen at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Blue Devils will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something the Cavaliers surely won't give up without a fight.
