Campbell Hall takes loss despite strong efforts from Nevaeh Smith and Zion Belcher-Arill

Recap: Campbell Hall Vikings vs. St. Mary's Academy Belles

After a string of three wins, the Campbell Hall Vikings's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They suffered a tough 75-55 loss at the hands of St. Mary's Academy. While losing is never fun, Campbell Hall can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 425th, while St. Mary's Academy is ranked 78th).

Zion Belcher-Arill and Nevaeh Smith certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Belcher-Arill dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds, while Smith scored 21 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Belcher-Arill has scored all season.

Campbell Hall's loss dropped their record down to 9-15. As for St. Mary's Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season.

Campbell Hall will be playing at home against Brentwood School at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Brentwood School has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 563 points over their last nine matches. As for St. Mary's Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against St. Anthony at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
