Softball Recap: Lincoln Southwest Beats Lincoln Northeast for Their Third Straight Victory

Lincoln Southwest extended their winning streak to three on Saturday, bumping them up to 22-2. They never let the Lincoln Northeast Rockets get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The Silver Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 games by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Ashley Jucht, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since September 5th. Taylor Siefken was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run.

Lincoln Southwest hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lincoln Northeast struck out nine times.

As for Lincoln Northeast, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-17 record this season. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, their shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

On Lincoln Northeast's side, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lily McPike, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Lincoln Southwest wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, an 11-0 win against Marian on the 27th. As for Lincoln Northeast, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 12-2 loss against Pius X on the 27th.
