Softball Recap: Monday's Victory Is Lutheran's Third in Last Four Outings

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Parkway Central, Lutheran was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Poplar Bluff Mules a 2-0 shutout. For the Cougars, this counts as revenge for the 10-5 win the Mules walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Lutheran is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Poplar Bluff, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Lutheran will head out to square off against Incarnate Word Academy at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars are facing the Red Knights at the right time seeing as the Red Knights are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Poplar Bluff, they will welcome Notre Dame at 4:30 p.m. on the 16th.
