Softball Recap: Thomson Takes a Loss

If Thomson was riding high fresh off their 17-0 takedown of Laney last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulldogs came up short against the Lincoln County Red Devils on Tuesday, falling 12-4. The Bulldogs were not able to make up for their loss to the Red Devils from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.

Janiya Scott made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Andie Ducey also deserves some recognition as she got her first hits of the season.

Thomson's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Lincoln County, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Thomson will take on Lakeside at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lincoln County, they will challenge Washington-Wilkes at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
