Emmaus waltzed into their game on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They enjoyed a cozy 59-40 victory over the Liberty Hurricanes. That's more bragging rights for the Hornets, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Despite the loss, Liberty still got an impressive performance from Shawna Beatty, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 boards. The dominant performance gave Beatty a new career-high in points.

Emmaus pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.0 points per game. As for Liberty, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 4-3.

Emmaus will venture away from home to challenge Louis E. Dieruff at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Emmaus knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Louis E. Dieruff likes a good challenge. As for Liberty, they will host Pocono Mountain West at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
