Softball Recap: Cass Wildcats vs. Yutan-Mead Patriots

Cass extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 2-10. They came up short against the Yutan-Mead Patriots, falling 10-2. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 14-2 to the Patriots when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Zoey Powles was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in both of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

As for Yutan-Mead, their win was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games.

On Yutan-Mead's side, Adie Gale was incredible, firing off two home runs, four RBI, and one stolen base while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave Gale a new career-high. Bailey Bartunek also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Cass didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 11-3 win against Syracuse on the 11th. As for Yutan-Mead, they will head out to take on Mercy at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
