Softball Recap: Brush Beetdiggers vs. Fountain-Fort Carson Trojans
Brush got themselves on the board against Fountain-Fort Carson on Saturday, but Fountain-Fort Carson never followed suit. They blew past the Trojans 10-0. Ten seems to be a good number for the Beetdiggers as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Not much got past Elizabeth Peckham, who gave up just four hits to keep Fountain-Fort Carson off the board. Peckham has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Gracie Martinez was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in September of 2024. Jada Shum was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Brush was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .421 or higher in four consecutive matches dating back to last season.
