Volleyball Recap: Beckville Picks Up Seventh Consecutive Victory

West Rusk typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday Beckville proved too difficult a challenge. They won by a set and slipped past the Raiders 2-1. The win was familiar territory for the Bearcats, who have now won seven games in a row.

If you add up the scores from across all three sets (70-66) Beckville actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 16-25, 25-23.

Kellen Weaver paced Beckville's offense, picking up 11 kills. Weaver were helped by Alayna Goolsby and Carli Tuttle, who contributed 19 assists each. Goolsby was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Beckville's victory bumped their record up to 13-3. As for West Rusk, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-8.

Looking ahead, Beckville will venture away from home to face off against Kilgore at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for West Rusk, they will welcome Garrison at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
