Preview: Alisal Trojans vs. Harker Eagles
Alisal has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Harker Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Alisal's defense has only allowed 28.7 points per game this season, so Harker's offense will have their work cut out for Harker.
Alisal has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 40 points or more this season. They took their game at home on Wednesday with ease, bagging a 78-22 victory over Rancho San Juan. Given Alisal's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 186th, while Rancho San Juan is ranked 714th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Alisal's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Nayeli Gil-silva, who scored 21 points, and Lesly Rodriguez trevi?o, who scored ten points along with eight steals and seven assists. Those seven assists set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Aileen Gonzalez, who scored nine points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought matchup, but Harker had to settle for a 48-46 loss against Ann Sobrato on Tuesday. Harker has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Alisal's win bumped their record up to 4-1-1. As for Harker, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.
