Soccer Game Preview: Los Angeles CES vs. Palisades

Los Angeles CES is 0-9 against Palisades since February of 2020 but things could change on Friday. The Los Angeles CES Unicorns will face off against the Palisades Dolphins at 3:00 p.m.

Los Angeles CES managed to keep up with Venice until halftime on Monday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Los Angeles CES came up short against Venice, falling 5-1. While losing is never fun, the Unicorns can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 400th, while the Gondoliers are ranked 195th).

Meanwhile, Palisades entered their tilt with University on Monday with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. Their defense stepped up to hand the Wildcats a 6-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Dolphins, who have now won 12 matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

Palisades pushed their record up to 15-1 with the win, which was their tenth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up four goals over those ten contests. As for Los Angeles CES, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.

Los Angeles CES might still be hurting after the 7-0 defeat they got from Palisades in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can Los Angeles CES avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
